About me

Florian Kern is a PhD candidate in the Human-Computer Interaction Group led by Prof. Dr. Marc Erich Latoschik. He finished his M.Sc. in Computer Science with the focus on Human-Computer Interaction in May 2018. The master thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Marc Erich Latoschik and Dominik Gall. The topic of the thesis is “Using Virtual Reality And Gamification Within Procedural Generated Environments To Increase Motivation During Gait Rehabilitation”. The application called Homecoming should motivate patients with multiple sclerosis and stroke during their rehabilitation training in a hospital. The master thesis was created in cooperation with a doctoral thesis written at the chair of psychology reviewed by Prof. Dr. Paul Pauli.
